Imperial War Museum

The Imperial War Museum includes material covering all conflicts, especially those involving Britain and the Commonwealth, from the First World War to the present day. It aims to provide for, and to encourage, the study and understanding of the history of modern war and ‘war-time experience’. The museum not only has artefacts from the wars but looks at the war from the point of view of the soldiers and survivors. There are also interactive displays. The new Holocaust and Total War Galleries opened in June 2000.
