It’s one of those places where stories and legends are formed. The whisper of the wind in this quaint little town harbors fairytales, folklores, and legends, which all of the locals know by heart. The tale of the infamous mermaid, Morven, and the love that just beyond her grasp on its silvery shores or of the piskies, fairies, knockers, aka the small people or the myriad ghost tales are just a hint of the magic that lies on these shores. Yet, there’s more to do in this village hide away than just unlock the magic of these tales. The rocky cliffs that plunge down into the Whitesand Bay reveal a sparkling mile long beach, which offers some the greatest swimming on the Penwith peninsula. For the more agile person, the rolling waves make for good surfing and board rentals can be found right on the beach at Sennen Cove. After an invigorating day of rock climbing and sun bathing a person can unwind by the hearth in one of Zennor’s cozy cafés like Myrtle Cottage on
Old Coastguard Row.
