Contrary to what the name suggests, Uckfield is home to beautiful gardens and exquisitely preserved parks. One could visit Sheffield Park Garden and feel the spray of the water as it splashes up from the waterfalls that connect the four lakes. Although Uckfield is one of England’s most densely populated areas, the town provides greenery and open space. The story of Freddie Martin exemplifies this close-knit and caring community of Uckfield. By collecting money and encouraging others to join, Freddie Martin reestablished the town brass band that has now earned many prestigious area and regional awards.
