Poole is a town with a population of approximately 150,000. The area’s magnificent beaches that are amongst the finest in Britain attract many individuals that come to this town. The vast stretch of golden sands stretch from Poole Harbor at Sandbanks all the way along the coast to Hengistbury Head. The town’s famous port, Poole Quay, plays a key role in the employment and has scheduled freight and passenger shipments to France and Spain. One of the attractions of Poole Quay itself is the Aquarium Complex that is divided into three distinct regions. In the aquarium, children can enjoy various marine species including sea life ranging from sharks, alligators and piranhas. The serpentarium in this complex is one of the few places in England licensed to keep snakes, turtles and other reptiles, while the insectarium is a home for tarantulas, toads and numerous creepy crawlers. Just a short walk from Poole Quay is Baiter Park. On a nice, warm day, you can take a walk along the harbor’s edge, ride your bicycle or just watch people jet-skiing in the water. Another popular recreation area is Poole Park, a recreation area where you can feed the ducks, stroll along the lakeside, or play a game of golf in the greens. This park offers something to do for every member of the family. One of the most popular activities amongst the children is feeding the ducks and swans in Swan Lake. Just across from this lake, children can visit the Gus Gorilla’s Jungle Playground, an excellent playground equipped with swings, slides and seesaws. While the kids play, parents can relax on the patio of a local restaurant within the park and watch their children. You can also stroll around the park and enjoy the atmosphere of the Rose Garden.
