Land's End in
Cornwall
|
Located twenty-one miles south of St. Ives, the town of Land's End is where England literally comes to an end with the American coast about 3,000 miles west of its rugged cliffs. Beautiful views can be seen from the tops of these rocky cliffs from where the Isles of Scilly, a number of small islands accessible by boat or helicopter, are sometimes visible. Warmed by the Gulf Stream unusually, ideal weather brings interesting flowers and wildlife to the Isles of Scilly. Deep-sea divers have special interest in the Isle of St. Agnes. The rocky reefs have destroyed many boats in the past, and according to tales, fortune lies underwater amongst the wrecks.
