IONA AND MULL , islands off the coast of the West of Scotland are popular for those who want to do something different. From these islands you can go on sight seeing trips to watch the whales, dolphins or porpoises, a truly wonderful sight. Visit Torosay Castle on the Isle of Mull, a beautiful home open to the public with 12 acres of well tended gardens to wander through, open April – October. Duart Castle, situated high on a hill, (in fact, you can see it when you sail over from Oban) has so many interesting historical
facts and stories from the dungeons to the keep and battlements. Iona, such a tiny island only 3.5 miles long is thought to be the first Christian site in Scotland, visit the monastery dating back to the year 563AD where St Columba started spreading the word about christianity.
