BUTE is the second biggest island in the Clyde Estuary and it takes about and hour and a half to get from the mainland. The capital of Bute is Rothesay with its castle (part ruin), well worth a visit, and its’ promenade, a pleasant walk amongst the many palm trees. Bute is well known to all Jazz lovers, the Bute Jazz Festival takes place every year and is visited by people from all over the world.
