CAWDOR CASTLE is still home to the Thanes of Cawdor. The castle has had a violent history and was associated with Shakespeare as the site of Macbeth’s murder of King Duncan, however, the murder actually took place in the 11th century and the castle wasn’t even built then! Inside the castle you can see some rare tapestries and paintings and view all the rooms including the 17th century kitchen. |
