Great Yarmouth in Norfolk

Without any question Great Yarmouth is a wonderful seaside resort with 5 miles of lovely sandy beaches and like many such coastal resorts is bustling in the summer but pleasantly peaceful in winter. Along its promenade it has the usual amusement arcades, rides, shops, cafes and eateries to keep the whole family satisfied. There is a Marina with swimming pool, Sea Centre with sharks and other marine life. Much of this place was bomb damaged during the war but it has now recovered and from here one can visit the Norfolk Broads a beautiful area filled with windmills winding rivers and wildlife. To really appreciate the landscape which is filled with historic homes castles parks and the like one can hire a boat to glide along the many waterways which lead inland to Norwich. Whilst it was a major herring port until the 1960s the discovery of oil off the Norfolk coast meant the continued prosperity of the town.
